Buyback

The best time to sell your books back is during finals week.

During finals week, a textbook that is being used in the upcoming semester
will be bought back at up to half of the new selling price, whether it was
purchased new or used.  Once the bookstore has purchased its limit of a title,
or if the book is not being used at UMA in the upcoming semester, the book may
be purchased for a used book wholesaler at up to 33% of the new selling price.

For Example:
The price for a new copy of a textbook at the beginning of the fall semester
was $100.00, but you purchased a used copy for $75.00.  The class is
offered again during the spring semester and the instructor is using the same
book.  If your textbook is in resalable condition, you will receive up to $50.00
at buyback.  If the textbook is not being used again at UMA, but at another
university in the country, you would receive - at the most - $33.00.

Unfortunately we cannot offer any money for books that will not be used again
at UMA and have no national value.  Looseleaf editions, international editions,
and instructor copies are not accepted at buyback.

The following factors will affect the buyback value of your books:
* The instructor has chosen to use a different book next semester
* The instructor has chosen to use a new edition of the book next semester
* The course that used this book is not being offered next semester
* The bookstore has not received a text requisition from the instructor
* The textbook package is missing pages or components, such as a CD
* The book is not in resalable condition
* The bookstore has reached their limit of a particular book and there is no national value

When you sell your used books:
*You receive cash for books you no longer need.
*Other students have the opportunity to save 25% by purchasing a used textbook.
*You help reduce UMA's carbon footprint.
